It was a great day for a spot of tea in the Room With A Past Tea Room! After finding out about Room With A Past from a longtime, loyal customer (thanks Sherrie!), new customer, Peggy, was excited to discover this cozy spot and invited friends and family "just because".

Fancy dresses, sweet treats and wrapped favors brought in by Peggy made for a picture perfect day.

Loud laughter was on tap, as warm as the tea that flowed into clinking china cups.

More Before...Sweet Treats

When was the last time you saw one of these delectable china cabinets with this much detail? It's cute before, but after....

it's absolutely DARLING!!!! It's a creamy white outside and ...

and a soft, sweet, light pink inside. Just like CANDY!

Only it won't give you a tummy ache. But it will make your heart pound faster.

We also have another HUGE "after" to share within the shop this month. We painted one whole wall in a "melted chocolate ice cream" brown. Puttin' A Spin On It

We ROOMIES always know how to put a cute spin on everything, and our sign spinner gals are no exception! Let us introduce you to these two cuties Heather and Claudia, who help direct you to our street during the sale dates with big signs and big smiles. Have you seen them building up their

biceps and triceps as they spin their signs on the corner of Third Avenue and North Main Street in Walnut Creek?

Every month they come up with their own clever costumes to wear while they're spinning. The only problem as we see it is that our next opening (Oct. 15 - 18th) is Halloween, and because they are a couple of cutie patooties, we just can't imagine that ANYTHING they wear for our opening will look scarey on them!!!!

LOTS At The Parking Lot Flea Market

Hope you made it to our opening last weekend, because if you see anything you want in these pictures, I'm here to tell you it's gone.

Once a year we have this sale, and our customers young and old, come from near and far to check it out! They know that in addition to the fabulously priced items we have every month inside the shop, that they'll be able to find twice the treasures out in the parking lot!

We had LOTS of great weather, LOTS of folks who brought something for our appraiser to look over, LOTS of ROOMIES helping out, LOTS of people listening to our live musicians and LOTS of customers who were buying LOTS of merchandise at great deals!

But most of all what we had LOTS of was FUN!

Before And After With L.O.V.E.

You should know that everything we sell at the shop is not only something we ROOMIES love and would gladly put in our own home, but each piece has been surrounded with L.O.V.E. (Lots Of Valuable Energy!) We gals at Room With A Past really do love every treasure that passes through our hands (and sometimes it's so hard to let go!) to be offered up to our customers each month.



Look at this gorgeous dresser from a bedroom set that is waiting for a new home this month. It was a thing of beauty to begin with:

This dresser was not just primed and painted my fellow furniture addicts: its every tiny detail was lovingly CARESSED with each stroke of the paintbrush. We don't charge any extra for this extra ingredient. It's our pleasure to spend this intimate amount of time with something so lovely!

Takin' It To The Streets

The streets of Danville, CA that is! Did you make it to the Heartland Antique and Art Faire over the Memorial Day weekend? Room With A Past was there in full force, selling goodies, and passing out our calender postcards to new customers who were happy to have found us!

There were lots of booths selling antiques, handcrafted items, ephemera, jewelry, vintage clothes, furniture and supplies.

The event was organized in (a huge) part by Marcia Harmon, of Cottage Jewel, (who must have the energy of a bumblebee because she was buzzing all over the place!) Here she is below in a rare photo caught on high-speed film!

And here's a peek inside her Cottage Jewel's new location at 100 W Prospect Ave, which is now open and ready for business.

Anita was at the helm inside (below), while Marcia was outside at the faire flitting about making sure everyone was having a great time.

Our very own Mandi had a booth at the faire with (one of the nicest people you'll ever meet) Sue Somers. Sue used to own "Weekends At The Cottage" in Clayton, CA (yes, I can hear you all quietly weeping because you still miss that store as much as I do!)

Keep Looking Until You Find Yourself!

Feeling a little lost? Now you can literally "find yourself" at Room With A Past! Did you make it into the shop a few months ago for our "Escape To Treasure Island" opening? We took LOTS of pictures of LOTS of our happy customers with their treasures after a fun and busy shopping trip!

Then our very own Roomie Susan assembled them into a colorful collage that represents what we hope to achieve every month: helping you find something that makes your heart happy.

We love that we now have a picture of a hundred stories, all with happy endings, in the hallway at the shop for everyone to see. It makes us smile every time we walk by to see our customers lovingly holding a true treasure!
